Key Activities: Blood and Beyond Belgium aims to increase the attention drawn to an optimal blood management, and to reduce the blood transfusion dependence from an individual, social and economic perspective. For this, Blood and Beyond Belgium brings together the expertise of experts in haematology, blood management, nursing, health economics and hospital management. As Blood and Beyond Belgium, we want to bring forward policy and organisational recommendation to limit the impact of blood transfusion for patients and society.

Key activities The Greek Blood & Beyond (Β&Β) initiative kicked off at the end of 2020. A first step towards paving the way to policy change, was the organization of a round table in the context of the National Health Policy Conference in December 2020, where the European Blood and Beyond report was publicly presented and PAGs discussed optimal blood management. Key Activities: Involvement of scientific society, key experts in the field of hematology and transfusion medicine and patient associations in the discussion on blood management in Poland. The Polish Society of Hematologists and Transfusionists developed a report on the current state of blood management in Poland including recommendations to prevent blood waste and deficits. Key Activities: The Romanian Blood & Beyond initiative, Blood Unit, hosted a key roundtable at the Romanian Parliament on October 24, 2023. The event was a platform for various stakeholders to discuss the 2nd white paper by the Romanian Blood Unit Coalition. The white paper aims to improve the Romanian transfusion system for patients.
