GAfPA hosted Blood Health advocacy event
In June, GAfPA (the Global Alliance for Patient Access) conducted an online advocacy briefing to highlight the World Health Organization’s new guidance on Patient Blood Management (PBM). It connected medical experts and patient advocates from the US and Europe to discuss the importance of prioritizing blood health. Focus was put on promoting PBM as a patient-centered, cost-effective strategy to improve outcomes by preserving and managing patients’ own blood, reducing complications, and minimizing reliance on transfusions. It finished with a call for increased advocacy and policy support to implement PBM at scale.
The briefing was recorded and can be watched here.
