Blood and Beyond leads advocacy and awareness-raising activities during PBM Awareness Week

From 4 to 8 November, Blood and Beyond marked Patient Blood Management (PBM) Awareness Week. During this time, Blood and Beyond sent a Joint Statement signed by 11 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and endorsed by various stakeholders to the European Commission, urging them to recognize the importance of blood health and promote its advancement through Patient Blood Management (PBM). The Joint MEP Statement is open for additional signatures and endorsements. In parallel, 3 participants to the Blood and Beyond initiative, Prof Axel Hofmann, Prof Daniela Filipescu, and Dr Androulla Eleftheriou, co-authored the article  Blood Health Matters: Urging EU Policy Action on PBM Implementation, which calls on policymakers to devote greater attention to blood health and PBM at all levels.
